My name is Ebony Godwin. I have been a Registered Nurse for more than a decade. Something that concerned me in my professional life as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department occurred when I was involved in a horrible Code Blue. A man collapsed on the outside of the hospital. The collapse was witnessed by upper management. The Emergency Department was notified and an all-hospital Code Blue was initiated. CPR was not started until the Code Blue Team arrived. Until that moment, it never occurred to me that medical staff would freeze and forget everything they previously learned about CPR.
